Dr Jonas Kahl advises and represents companies, internet portals, journalists, bloggers and photographers in media, copyright and competition law. His main areas of expertise include advising and representing clients in matters of internet law, press law, general personality and expression of opinion law, as well as licensing contract law.
Dr Jonas Kahl has been a member of the Spirit Legal team since 2016 and a partner of the firm since 2023. Prior to that, he worked for two years as a lawyer in the intellectual property department of a supra-regional commercial law firm in Berlin. He has been a specialist lawyer for copyright and media law since 2019 and is the deputy chair of the specialist lawyers' committee for sports law of the Saxony Bar Association. He has also been a member of the specialist lawyers' committee for copyright and media law since 2022.
Dr Jonas Kahl, LL.M. studied law in Leipzig, Rome and Mainz and completed his legal traineeship in Berlin and Melbourne. He obtained his doctorate at the University of Leipzig and a Master of Laws at the Media Institute of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Dr Jonas Kahl is a member of the Mitteldeutsche Vereinigung für Medienrecht e.V., the FORUM Junge Anwaltschaft of the DAV and the SDW Alumni e.V.
