Dr. Diana Ettig

Dr. Diana Ettig, LL.M. is an attorney-at-law and of counsel at Spirit Legal. A specialist in copyright and media law with particular expertise in data protection, she combines areas of law that are of outstanding importance for clients as the worlds of work and commerce become increasingly digital. She has been advising companies of all sizes on drafting contracts and reviewing complex legal issues for many years. In addition, Diana Ettig has extensive court experience as a trial lawyer.
Before joining the Spirit Legal team in 2019, Diana Ettig spent five years working as a lawyer in an international commercial law firm and three years as a partner in a boutique specialising in copyright and media law.
Dr. Diana Ettig studied law in Dresden and Paris. She then completed her master’s degree in International Studies in Intellectual Property Law at the Institute for Intellectual Property and Competition Law in Dresden and at the Centre for International Intellectual Property Studies in Strasbourg. In her doctoral thesis, she examined the question of compensation for enrichment and licence analogy in cases of infringements of personality rights.
Dr. Diana Ettig is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and Copyright (GRUR), and her work on current topics in copyright, media and data protection law is regularly published in the relevant trade press.
